Our team started the match with a defensive approach, trying to stay compact in our own half. The hosts, meanwhile, focused on positional play, keeping possession for long periods and looking to break through our defence with quick through balls and passes out wide. At first, we managed to deal with Mazovia II’s attacks and caught their players offside on several occasions. Unfortunately, we conceded the opening goal in the eighth minute.

We continued to resist the hosts’ pressure until the 26th minute, when Mazovia doubled their lead. The final quarter of an hour of the first half went completely against us, as we conceded four more goals and went into the break trailing 6:0.

The second half began on a slightly more positive note for us. In the 53rd minute, the ball was played out to Łukasz Gendek on the right wing. He cut inside towards the edge of the penalty area, took aim and produced a superb technical strike that flew just under the crossbar and into the net.

Unfortunately, less than ten minutes later, the hosts resumed their goalscoring display. Mazovia II added another seven goals during the remainder of the second half to seal a 13:1 victory.

The team from Mińsk Mazowiecki were clearly the better side today. They enjoyed a huge advantage in possession, used the ball more effectively and fully deserved their victory. It is disappointing that the defeat was so heavy, especially after last week’s win over Watra Mrozy, which had given us hope that we would be able to produce a much stronger performance against the league leaders.
